Our mission is to improve cancer care, treatment, and prevention by increasing the knowledge and size of the oncology workforce in sub-Saharan Africa.
We envision a world where equitable access to quality cancer care is a reality for all, regardless of geography.
Go Together is committed to expanding and empowering sub-Saharan Africa’s oncology workforce through global collaboration and training to improve cancer care and prevention. Our goal is to bring together Go Together alliance members under the direction of the ministries of health in each partner country in sub-Saharan Africa to drive meaningful change in oncology training and care.

Why does this matter?
Cancer is a growing public health challenge in sub-Saharan Africa, where 7 out of 10 people diagnosed with cancer will not survive. These poor outcomes can be due to:
- Late diagnoses
- Late, limited, or inadequate treatment
- Lack of prevention, screening, and early detection interventions
- Few health care personnel trained in cancer care and prevention
An expanded and trained oncology workforce can improve this situation.
Go Together aims to:
- Train & expand the oncology workforce.
- Provide evidence-based oncology education.
- Strengthen the health system and performance through multi-sector partnerships.
Together, we can transform cancer care and create lasting change by investing in the healthcare workforce.
